Discipleship Groups

While there’s nothing inherently wrong with being at church all the time, we want to encourage a different kind of intentionality. Time and energy are limited. Our schedules fill quickly and life can feel overwhelming, and so following Jesus means thoughtfully aligning our time and resources with what matters most. That’s true not only for individuals, but for us as a church.

We want to be careful not to fill every evening with programs, but instead create space for something just as important: life lived on mission. We want our people to be present with neighbors, friends, and coworkers—to build real relationships with those who may not yet know Christ. That kind of presence takes time. It requires margin.

We also want to cultivate lives of gospel-shaped hospitality and meaningful fellowship. Often, that doesn’t happen through more scheduled events, but through ordinary, intentional rhythms during the week—welcoming others in, sharing meals, and making space for others. And yes, that sometimes means laying down personal preferences for the good of the community.

At the same time, Scripture calls the church to gather—for teaching, encouragement, and spiritual formation. The question isn’t whether we gather, but how we do so wisely.

For this season, one of the primary ways we gather beyond Sunday worship is through Discipleship Groups. These groups meet once a month on Sundays after the service, with separate gatherings for men and women. They are simple, discussion-based, and centered around a shared book, with the goal of helping people build relationships, grow in faith, and take meaningful steps together. They’re not meant to fill your schedule—but to anchor you in community as you live out your faith in the rest of your week.
